Monitoring Seats

Reading the seat map

When you pick a showtime, SeatDrop loads the theatre's seat map showing every seat and its current status.

Seat colours

ColourMeaning
BlueTaken — someone has booked this seat. Tap it to start monitoring.
PurpleMonitoring — you're tracking this seat. You'll be alerted if it opens up.
Outline onlyAvailable — this seat is already open. No need to monitor it — go book it now on the theatre's website.

The screen

The word "SCREEN" appears at the front of the map with a gradient line showing the screen's position. Rows closer to the screen are at the top.

The monitoring counter

At the bottom of the seat map, you'll see a counter like MONITORING (5/200) showing how many seats you've selected out of your maximum. Push notification users can monitor up to 200 seats per alert; SMS users can monitor up to 50.

Scrolling on mobile

Some theatres have wide auditoriums. On mobile, you can scroll the seat map left and right to see all columns. Row labels stay fixed on the left side as you scroll.
